The one you say? I'll dance.

I'll dance because you're a demagogue trying to dunk on a place we call home.

I'll dance because you're disingenuously, not so subtly rooting for our harm.

And I'll dance because we've had enough of elitist clowns like @PeteThamel. https://twitter.com/darrenrovell/status/1283382274428473345
Let's start with your assertion of "conjecture" and let's stipulate that correlation is not causation. What we do know:

1. the original hotbeds were in "your states"
2. a bunch of people from "your states" fled to "our states"
3. spread has certainly surged in "our states"
Talking about "conjecture", you suggest the surges are because people in "our states" oppose mask mandates and are ignorant for doing so. You offer exactly zero data on mask wearing or actual causation. Rather, you whine only about the opposition to government mandates.
I mean, I get it. You jus know the likes of @darrenrovell & @PeteThamel, think that where they live, who they've met that one time, or where they graduated from somehow makes them our superiors. Intellectually, culturally, and in every other sense, they believe it.
So let's return to the central premise of @darrenrovell's obnoxious trolling of SEC folk.

He's smart, responsible, & anti-COVID because he supports mask mandates; we are dumb, irresponsible, & pro-COVID b/c we oppose government mandates.

That's why the surge is here, he says.
He attacks SEC states for not fighting to have government mandate mask wearing. He offers exactly no evidence of mask wearing or social distancing not being exercised or promoted by "our people" in "our states." He simply suggests that opposing mask mandates caused the surges.
And look, I get it. We received our diplomas from little ole state schools. You received yours from Northwestern, I here there righting school teaches reel good up there...
We're simple people down here, so I'm gonna keep this simple. I don't need government to mandate I wear a mask for me to make the responsible decision to wear one. I don't need a nanny state protecting me from harm. If I did, I'd move to New York. Or another one of "your states."
Forgive me as this is off topic, but since the topic of people moving between "our states" and "your states" has come up, let's play a game. You get 10 points for everyone who flees 1 of "our states" to move to 1 of "yours" and I get 1 point for the opposite. Who wins?
To land this plane, let's just indulge you and pretend our recent surges are because of reckless ignorance exercised by uneducated rednecks. You sure you really want to compare the harm in "your states" vs the harm in "our states?"
Stipulating that death is the worst possible outcome, let's start there. You should recognize this source, it's the same one you used. Fascinating stuff here. Guess where the worst possible outcome has happened exponentially more than anywhere else? Hint: nowhere in the SEC.
But why is that? I mean, you said that opposing government mandates is why "we can't have football." But a government mandate is exactly what sent so many of "your" elderly and vulnerable citizens to their death. By the most authoritarian tool available... by executive order.
Maybe it's because you're more concerned with ICU and hospital bed availability. I get it, comparing mortality rates between your state and ours isn't the easiest position to defend. But hey, @NYGovCuomo is the best, amirite? Sorry, back to hospital bandwidth and outcomes...
Ok fine. It's not bed availability that you're chastising us for. It's the exploding number of new cases. Care to overlay testing data on top of it and run an analysis?
Alright, @darrenrovell, let's take a little shortcut on that exercise and agree that positivity rates is probably a good indicator or spread. Guess what's needed for an accurate positivity rate? That's right, an accurate numerator and an accurate denominator.
In this case, and follow me here... the numerator would be the number of unique individuals testing positive and the denominator would be the total number of tests given to unique individuals.
And wouldn't you know it, trying to get reliable data sets from hundreds of disparate sources throughout a state can lead to some very misleading data. Case in point, there's a massive difference between number of positives and the positivity rate. https://twitter.com/Fox35Amy/status/1282982855430340610?s=20
Speaking of comparing our respective states: you really want to extrapolate out what the number of positives were in NY at the peak in "your state" if testing was anywhere near as accessible as it is today?
So sure, @darrenrovell, take pride in the fact that your state was exponentially better at killing infected residents and that your peak is behind for now. Keep trolling from your sanctimonious high horse. But know that any time you want to come at us simple folk in the south...
