Okay: A/C units. If you are experiencing dry scratchy throats, change your air filter, vacuum and dust the room, and add a fan. If you are experiencing humidity in your room? Get your A/C serviced b/c Freon is probably leaking. When was your last A/C service? New Air filter?
If the cool room still feels dry, set up a humidifier. There are redneck humidifiers that work fine all over google, if you have no money. If your room is humid, it shouldn’t be. Get service done.
All that air sucking one way makes rooms musty. Get fans. Houseplants help. Also keep blinds drawn as much as possible to minimize sun eating your cool by the windows.
If your walls get full sun, that wall is going to be hot. If you can’t shade the outside of your house with strategic plantings or whatnot, Water helps. Every hour or so go outside and spray that wall with a hose. Old school Texans ran sprinklers on the roof. Drought don’t allow.
This thread brought to you by seeing too many of my northern folks enduring heat waves when they don’t have to be enduring anything and ought to be comfortable.
Thought process behind discomfort in A/C: 1) when was the air filter changed? 2) when was my A/C last serviced by a licensed technician? (It should be annually...) 3) where are the places where I am uncomfortable and what is the sun situation on the house there?
