there's going to be more critical discourse around Ghost of Tsushima and this link will be used in bad faith to defend the game against criticism. Asians will have different perspectives than Asian Americans. It's not complicated. https://twitter.com/Kotaku/status/1283373711123505154
like, i'm late on my paper mario review because i'm not done playing ghost of tsushima. i found new things to do just last night.

realistically, even though i beat the game almost 3 weeks ago, i've only covered a third of the map.
adding this perspective to the thread. it goes with @LawofTD's tweets yesterday about his discomfort around the Japanese nationalism driving the story. Samurai are historical figures warped into a Batman-like fantasy. It's worth talking about. https://twitter.com/UnwinnableDavid/status/1283446491005308935
it's worth remembering that in the ending to "Seven Samurai," after the seven saved the village, they were asked to leave, despite their sacrifice. They weren't welcome. It was just this one time they were deemed necessary. The romance was always a facade.
for people who"don't understand" let me try to make it less complicated:

- critical discourse around a game doesn't mean "hating" on it. some just want to talk about things they think about as they play it. it's annoying when you say "BUT BUT JAPANESE LIKE IT" under every reply
