Little late on this one because I wanted to make sure the show had my undivided attention, but #babysittersclub is a DELIGHT
I& #39;m only two episodes in, but it& #39;s already clear that the team behind the series really did it right. There& #39;s so much respect to the source material. I& #39;m sure there are easter eggs I& #39;m missing, but they managed to sneak in a nod to a Baby-Sitters Little Sister plot? WHAT
The casting is perfect. The costumes are spot on (Stacey McGill& #39;s New York-cool outfit in episode one). The set design is divine -- how cool is Claudia& #39;s cluttered art studio / desk!
These kids make mistakes. They mess up big time. They say things that really sting. But in the end they learn, inch-by-inch, how to make up for those mistakes. Even something as simple as saying "I& #39;m sorry" to your friend has serious weight.
I can& #39;t wait to finish the series. This is the type of show a writer in kids& #39; entertainment dreams of working on.
When I was at Netflix, this project was brought up in a Monday morning meeting.
"Looks like there& #39;s interest in reviving the Babysitter& #39;s Clu--"
I stood up. "Uh yeah. Greenlight. What& #39;s there to discuss? Next agenda item."
"Well, we know Brandon& #39;s opinion!"

(I think I said "Make Logan Bruno Vietnamese" but that was probably muttered under my breath)
