We all know that representation matters, yet the numbers of women of colour & BAME leaders in education are severely lacking. Research from 2018 states 91.3% of state-funded female school teachers in England were White. 96.2% of female headteachers were White. (1/4) #racetolead

Figures from Scotland are also insufficient - with just 0.6% of school teachers from ethnic minority backgrounds across the entire profession in promoted posts. (2/4) #racetolead

Data from higher education also show that women of colour face barriers to senior positions; men of colour are more likely to hold positions of leadership, even though there are more women of colour in the sector. #racetolead (3/4)
