Video Game BGM Recommendation Thread. I'm about to make a thread where I recommend some good music from video games. I urge all of you to reply with some of your own! Let the thread begin!

Starting with my most obvious recommendation. This song plays at the beginning of every one of my streams and I adore its upbeat energy and its lightning fast shifting between all of the songs in the game. Probably a favorite of all time

Before Rhythm Heaven, this was my favorite of all time. Such a calm meaningful song that still gives me warm fuzzies to mark the ending of my favorite game ever made.

This song is gorgeous and I don't hear people talk about it nearly enough. I doesn't play during gameplay, but it absolutely deserves mention for the incredible vocals, choir, and also being the first video game song nominated for a Grammy!

Underwater themes have always been interesting. Most of the time they have a calm demure quality to them. However, Super Monkey Ball isn't a game where you get to have calm or demure and the music ramps up if anything. I adore it.

I never had the chance to play the original Rayman games up until Origins, but from what I can see of the series, its vibes are heard clearly in what is the best part of the game. Its opening is unforgettable and it combines orchestra and banjo...somehow!

I have always adored the Pokemon Gym theme, present since the beginning of the series. But in BW2, they individualized each track for each gym leader. And for Elesa, they sold a bombastic buildup over multiple trainers.

GIMME WHAT I NEEEEEEEEEEED

This one is a classic. Katamari Damacy is a wild game and it knows it. Katamari on the Rocks leans into its completely wild nature.

Smash 4 was an entry in the series. And I love every single main theme of every series. That said I frankly have NO idea how no one talks about this alternate version of the Smash 4 theme

Call me an uncultured scrub all you want, but I barely have ever played any Final Fantasy. The only one I ever played (for a significant amount of time) was Mystic Quest, and this battle theme is burned into my mind forever.

That's right, I'm including mods. Terraria is one of my favorite games of all time, and the Calamity mod brings it a step further. One thing that brings it to a whole other level is the soundtrack by @DMDOKURO with this one being a personal fave

Star Fox 64 formed my childhood in a way, and while a lot of the music didn't really vibe with me as feeling a little standard, this was the exception....and dear lord was it the exception. The Star Fox Zero remake's inclusion of a choir pushes it beyond

Another track early arrivals to my stream will recognize. EDGE is a mostly unknown game that thrives on its minimalism, and a lot of the music reflects that, being somewhat ambeint. This track is a noted exception, and when it goes off....it goes off

I know many prefer the organ of the original version of this, but I adore the violin and guitar playing the theme of this playful fighter.

just gonna put the ost of undertale in its entirety

This song is whimsical joy in a can. The swingy nature of it gives it a special aloofness, and the bubbly instrumentation halfway through lends it to be something absolutely from the Super Mario Galaxy series. What a fun jam.

You have entered the sonic section of this thread. You can call it nostalgia all you want (because it is a lot nostalgia), but the lyrics are possibly the most Sonic thing that has come out of the series, I would argue more than his theme from SA1

And on the topic of SA2, I know that I've memed the shit out of this, but I wouldn't have done it if it didn't have one of the catchiest beats ever put to song

It might not be Thursday yet, but Hideki Naganuma can create one hell of a groove.

Speaking of Casino levels in Sonic games, there's something that's just inexplicably awe-inspiring about this track. It goes from a feeling of almost spacey fun for most of it, but then at one point transitions to a near chaos. Just like a real casino.

The main theme of Sonic 06 deserved more than the game it was attached to. But going by that standard there wouldn't be many games to put it with.

This is the best Zelda song by a long long long shot. There's something beautiful about the 3/4 strums on top of the pan flute just going off. It's so beautifully simple with only a few instruments. I honestly adore it and hearing it in BotW was a treat.

If you don't know what I mean, listen at the 30 second mark. (this one is also great)
Alright, that's all the thread I have for you for now! I may continue it later, who knows

Until then, feel free to post some of your favorite video game OST tracks! I'd love to hear some that I may never have heard before!
