A thread for those newly “woke” to leftist intolerance:
I learned the term “politically incorrect” circa 1988 as a PhD student in a state university when it was used unironically (pejoratively) about me.
While a student there, I and others in my pro-life club had to sue the university for violating our first amendment rights when they wouldn’t permit a pro-life display because a pro-choice student had written an editorial in the student paper calling for violence against us.
So because of the threatened violence (they said) they required us to pay for an expensive insurance policy which we as students couldn’t afford. They were no consequences for the student who wrote the editorial because she was exercising her free speech rights.
The university settled with us (we basically won) and we got our display.

Today, the student who wrote the editorial calling for violence against pro-lifers (satirically, she said) is now a columnist at The New York Times.
My friends and I were also ushered off a college campus by the Secret Service when we unfurled a banner protesting Attorney General Janet Reno (serving under Clinton) when she gave a talk. We were objecting to a policy of hers limiting first amendment rights of prolifers.
All this was before the digital age but you can find it in court records and the archives of @TheBuffaloNews.

You can many, many records of such in my life and many others.
All this to say: I’ve been fighting intolerance from the left (and the right!) for as long as some of you have been alive.

So step off.

(And maybe read up a little.)
P.S. The Secret Service were super nice. They let us travel all around the room with our banner held up and even get to the front of the room to hold it up in front of Reno on the stage. Then they politely told us that we were done and escorted us out.
