With the announcement of the @roadto2022 match schedule some have mentioned that they don’t know what there is to do in Qatar besides watching @FIFAWorldCup football. Some of my suggestions are as follows (feel free to add your own):
• Karak by the Corniche
• SUP along by The Pearl
• Grab a drink at the fan zone
• Tasty treats at Souq Waqif
• Hop on a boat bound for Banana Island
• Finding a whole in the wall with the best shawarma/kebab you’ve ever tasted
• Heading north to a beach to go kite surfing
• Have beers with other fans in a local bar
• Marshmallows by the fire while camping in the desert
• Seeing the work of local artists at the Fire Station
• Eating at one (or many) of the high end restaurants
• Scooting round the coast on a JetSki
• Fishing (spear diving or from a boat)
• Dune bashing in a 4WD
• Seeing a show in Katara opera hall or amphitheatre
• Heading to a club to dance post-match
• Meeting other fans on the train and going on an adventure
• Getting that classic selfie on board a camel
• Checking out some Islamic Art
• Racing mates on dune buggies
• Laying by the pool working on your winter tan
• Meeting a falcon
• Cruising the Corniche in a dhow
• Cycle along the pathways from Doha to Lusail Stadium
• Sit on the floor and enjoy some machbous with old and new friends
• Wander around the man-made islands of The Pearl
• Sky dive and check out the stadiums from above
