First of all, I like to trace the hair in a darker shade than the colour I wanna paint it with. I then fill it with the base colour.
The next step is the shade. I use a darker shade than the base colour but still not as dark as the line art. I trace according to the shape of the hair. I use the Pen for this step
Then I grab the watercolor (wet) around 20% opacity with the same colour as the shade. This will make the hair look more natural. Make sure the highlights are kinda lined up cause that& #39;s how lighting and shading works. Don& #39;t forget to wave the lines so it looks more natural
After the first shading is done, I use the colour of the line art to shade again, but in a smaller scale. Gives the hair more texture
The final step is making the highlights. I use the Pen (sharp) tool and a brighter colour than the base colour. Small strokes are all it takes. Here& #39;s the final result:
