Much like the advent of MRIs and CT scans, many applications will be “frontline” tools that will provide critical decison-making data. It will make complete sense to disclose such a tool is used, much like we discuss MRI/CT results with patients
Other AI tools may be deeply embedded into systems that help present data effectively or find patterns amongst populations, akin to a hospital lab information system today, and may not bring value or appropriateness in entering a patient-provider conversation
