A few hundred law enforcement supporters have joined religious groups for a march toward City Hall. Many seem to be current or former NYPD
NYPD officers just violently arrest about a dozen protesters who’d linked arms to block the police march across Brooklyn Bridge. Members of community affairs unit who made arrests were just marching alongside pro police group
As cops processes the 10+ peaceful protesters they just arrested on the bridge, the NYPD-escorted pro-police march waits for their turn to march on the same roadway
NYPD has now cleared the pedestrian part of the bridge after threatening reporters and photographers with arrest
And they’re on the bridge. There’s a large group of black clergy and congregants marching with Blue Lives Matter crowd. One couple just told me they didn’t know this was a cop march when they arrived and feel taken advantage of. “They arrested protesters? Wow.”
Three separate people with Jericho said they were surprised to learn of the police element to this march. Here’s the two flyers that were circulated for the same event https://twitter.com/globralph/status/1283410702003306496?s=21 https://twitter.com/globralph/status/1283410702003306496
Dueling chants of “USA” and “Shame” as Blue Lives Matter marchers pass City Hall occupation, separated by police. “It’s the Macy’s Day Prade for racists,” shouts one occupier.
Here’s Chief Judith Harrison, new commander of Brooklyn North, speaking at the pro-police rally while in uniform: “People tried to stop us on the bridge. Do you know why they didn’t stop us? Because of the power of prayer.”

Small scrum of counter-protesters shout her down
