Cool places you can travel to in the UK (a thread)
Alderney. This is in the Channel Islands. It was invaded by the Germans in WW2 and has lots of forts and bunkers. It also has incredible sea views, beaches, and great seafood. Inject it into my veins.
Stratford upon Avon. Noooo not the one in east london. This is the West Midlands. It’s Shakespeare’s birth place and the home to his wife Ann Hathaway (no, not the Queen of Genovia, another one). Lots of pubs, literary history, cottages and pretty views.
Cambridge. You can go punting (kinda like the gondolas in Venice but like...not *as* sexy) but it looks like FUN! There’s incredible architecture, museums and you can get admission to see the universities for like £9.
Isles of Scilly. Which I’d NEVER heard of til I got on the Googler. Like...YA’LL THIS IS IN ENG-ER-LAND?? Just off the coast of Cornwall. It has white sand beaches, stunning boat trips and surprisingly tropical and botanical gardens.
Cornwall. If you’re a fan of Poldark (it me), then you KNOW how bomb Cornwall looks. It has Cornish pasties, hills, valleys, moors, great hiking spots and the mineck theatre, which is STUNNING.
