Lets get the obvious out of the way first, shall we?

First in line, Famous jigarthanda. It is world famous and also the shops name.

Everyone knows Amma mess and Konar mess, but have you tried the biriyani at Amsavalli Bhavan? IT is to die for!

Ignore the low light, trust this little person(me) and enjoy the biriyani!

While walking around Meenakshi temple, keep your eyes peeled for this pushcart managed by a couple making Keerai Vadais. For 10rs, you get three vadais sprinkled with paruppu podi.

You will also find dozen or so pushcarts selling steamed goodies. Personal fav: Country corn, kollu payaru and paasi payaru.

On the corner of North Mada street, you will find one shop selling fried goodies.

Personal Fav: Ginger murkku and Garlic Murukku.

getting severely distracted as Google photos keeps showing me food photos from my trips to Kochi, Bali, Purulia etc. Wait a minute for 10 mins. Will continue.

While you know kalakki, Madurai also has several others.

Another delicacy you absolutely need to try is Butter bun!!! Look at the amount of buffer!!
