i live in russia, and recently there was some turmoil going on with the constitution changes that basically allowed the government to overrule the european court of human rights.
now there is a law in the making that basically denies trans people the opportunity to transition.

the said changes basically defined the marriage as a bond between a man and a woman, which is kinda illegal and denies the human rights of gay people. already pretty bad, but it gets worse!

today, Elena Mizulina introduced a bill that denies the trans people the ability to change their sex on a birth certificate, advocates for those who have already done so to change it back, and to consider heterosexual couples with a trans person in it honosexual, thus invalid.

besides, same-sex couples, married abroad, can’t adopt here, in russia. MOREOVER, they are LEGALLY banning same-sex marriages instead of ignoring them.
i know this thread is messy and all over the place, but this is all terible and it needs to be spread.
