GET A VILLAGE
There are two sayings I want to start with on this thread. I have called “ Get a Village”

1. That if you are in a room of people and you are the smartest, run away.

2. That if you hang with 5 stupid people yo likely to be the 6th, if you have with 5 smart or successful people, yo likely to be the 6th.

So I have been analysing our generation individuals we consider successful, idols, business men, politicians and more…
What makes them successful, what inspires them, what drives them…

its mostly one similar drive… The village, their origin.

A #village is where most come from, and like the saying “East or West, home is best”
Having studied, grew up, and constant visits to their village / home that made them who they are, it makes them strive for more.

So, Why is a village mindset such a good push, fuel or booster.

It takes me back to the earlier two sayings,

1. If yo the smart one in the room run away… those are the village handsome boys or beautiful women, that feel like they have made it in life, bse he has aka DSTV or CAR and he dresses like the ones from the city…

when yo the real deal of the ka village town, or aga centre, you don’t get inspired, bse you think yo the smartest in the room… the rest you inspire, are more likely to get smarter, and leave the room. When yo still in one position.

But if u leave the room in time, village & head to town, meaning you have stepped out of the comfort zone, u have left the bubble you live in and have come to town. You grow wiser, stronger and maturely.
The village is that comfort zone, that prison... whatever u consider it.

for those r born & raised in town, remember, there is always that 1 origin, even if yo tribe origin is central Buganda, there is always that ka journey to your origin (jjo ssibuka)/(kwivuko) even if its a 30 minutes drive, visit there, or leave it, get out more… it is important.

This thread is to ask each and everyone reading it, to be inspired, leave that comfort zone, leave that area you run leave that bubble… u never know, u might be a good or the best basketball player here when you can be praised their, never limit your opportunities in one place.

You might be amazing in Bugolobi, Bukoto, Nyarutarama or Kicukiro in the flats or estate, #yet the ‘basketballers’ in Muyenga, Saint Familé or Gatsata can challenge you and u master that #And1 move, that when you get back to your comfort zone you even have more credit.

Back to the generation that inspires some of us, and what we should learn from them, is they never forgotten where they come from, they have built their villages.

Mbarara, Fortportal, Mbale, Mombasa, Nungwi, Masaka, Nyagatare, Mugesera, Musanze, Nigerians take back 2 the village “IGWE” Mwanza, Tanga, Kigoma, Gitega, Muyinga Nyanza , Bukirasazi Americans who go back to country homes etc
Never think U belong to the big city with lights...
