That split is 100 years old, as Catholic Church stated graduates from Stranmillis couldn’t teach in Catholic schools (intention was it would be non-denominational, I believe). So Stran became seen as the Protestant ITT college.
I’d love to see a side-by-side of the history training modules at each college for their emphases. Teachers/dept heads choose curriculum from modules available - it’s that intentional choice that perpetuates.
