Proud to launch the 'Free Books Campaign,' getting books by authors of colour to those who cannot access them due to socioeconomic, systemic and other barriers to access.

Following the fundraiser, we've raised a huge £1,285 so far! This next step is the fun part, thread: 👇🏽⁣⁣
The Free Books Campaign started as a fundraiser to contribute to the closing of educational inequalities. Due to your incredible support, it has expanded & I hope to lead the campaign for the long term.

In 2018, it was reported than almost 130 libraries were closed down, making access to texts increasingly difficult.
While some of us have been fortunate to buy books during this pandemic, not everyone is afforded the same luxury.

No one should be denied the chance to read.
Here comes the fun part! You can claim a free book if the below criteria apply to you 🎉

This whole process is based on honesty, so please only reach out to claim a book if you have read this and it reflects your current position.
In the spirit of community & collective learning, we put together reading lists, comprised of authors of colour with the help of avid readers, book prizes and academics.

You can choose from any of the books in these lists, or request one that we haven't featured, as long as they are not written by homophobic, transphobic, anti-black or hold other bigoted views.
