I've never experienced anything like this in my life, and no other possible explanation fits the bill. My ENT has ruled out nasal polyps or other blockages, cleared out infections that lingered, and it persists. I can't eat normally. I can't walk past kitchens without gagging.
Now I'm on Prednisone and on top of it all I'm dealing with acid reflux side effects. And there is no guarantee it's going to help me, either. Getting Corona isn't like getting the flu, and it isn't just two difficult weeks for many.
Statistics are showing that for severe and mild cases alike, symptoms are persisting long after the virus has left the body. Most reports I could find mentioned fatigue and difficulty breathing, but the altered smell/taste has barely been a blip on the radar.
I would really really like to know what can be done to research this. I'll give blood or whatever samples might help, but my quality of life has significantly diminished in the past month from dealing with this. And I had enough problems already!
Just like... @WHO @CDCgov is anyone looking into parasomia post-COVID? It is difficult to find information about anything COVID related other than what to look for in the initial infection stage.
I'm tempted to also @ John's Hopkins and Harvard and other well known medical universities. I will be a willing and cooperative guinea pig if you need it I just want to know what is wrong and if it can actually be fixed.
So if you are experiencing changes in your smell and taste after having #coronavirus #COVID19 read the article at the top of this thread. #parasomia #PostCOVID19 #pandemic
