Karuppar kootam,inspired by the vile Periyar, has named itself in a way to "reclaim "pride and identity in being dark skinned (Karuppar)an obvious reference to the discredited Aryan (fair)-Dravidian (black) dichotomy and the irreconcilable differences between the two.

Karuppar Kootam selectively targets Hinduism with its venomous series Abasa Puranam (obscene Puranas) on its YouTube channel. Now thanks to various protests the channel has been taken down. The group is believed to have links with Communist and Dravidian media/parties eg News 18
