Here’s a thread about Indian Culture and it’s diversity because there’s a lot more than just Curry:
India is a really diverse country known for it’s beautiful classical dances, festivals, weddings and fashion. Every state has it’s own language, food and different styles of fashion. I’ve never really seen a country this diverse before.
The beauty of India is just on another level because of its many different cultures. However, on stan twt everyday I see my culture being reduced down to curry and stereotypical jokes when it’s much more than that. I hope you guys read this thread and learn about Indian culture.
1. The Taj Mahal: is a beautiful monument in Agra, Uttar Pradesh and sits on the right side of the Yamuna River. It’s also one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
2. The Indian Lehngas and Outfits: the Lehngas is apart of women’s fashion. Normally worn at wedding, the beautiful and stunning is a majorly import for the bride. The suits are yet not simple but beautifully designed.
3. Indian Jewelry: The jewelry is absolutely stunning and unique. Which differentiates them from regular jewelry. Women in northern parts of India usually wears jewelry with different designs. While in southern parts, they usually wear jewelry made out of gold.
4. The Maang Tikka and Nath (nose ring): Lately Maang Tikka has been a hot topic on stan twt. So, let me tell you it’s significance and the role it plays in a woman’s life.
5.Bindis: have significant value and is very much more than just a jeweled crystal sticker.
6.The classical dances and Mudras: Theres 9 Classical dances. There’s Bharatnatyam , Kathak , Odissi , Kuchipudi , Kathakali , Mohiniattam , Manipuri , Sattriya , and Chhau. This isn’t really detailed but it should be enough to teach you about the classical dances and Mudras.
7.The Rangoli: is part of the decorations at festivals like Onam and Diwali. However it has a significant value in religion.
8. Food: India is widely known for its food. India is also known as “The Land of Spices”. There’s different types of food from different states in India. There’s much more than curry and butter chicken. If you ever travel to India, our food is a must-try.
I mean all of this food is like 50% of all.
Anyways, I hope you guys now understand what is CA and how my culture and religion have been disrespected and joked about multiple times. My request to stans on here is : Please realize that my culture shouldn’t be used as a aesthetic and to please call out your idols about++
what they are doing wrong. I know your idols are nice enough and would love to learn more about others’ cultures. Me mentioning or calling out (idols name) isn’t me hating them. I just hope they’ll learn more and won’t disrespect my culture and or religion ever again.
To all the desi stans on my tweet , remember how beautiful our culture is. No matter how many bashes it. Our country is beautiful and should be known more for its culture. Thank you for reading my thread.
