A big crowd just marched over from Pioneer Square (led by Rose City Justice), and they’re telling people not to fuck with the federal courthouse.

The RCJ crowd is marching around the Justice Center. They have a very different vibe. There’s still a small group of JC regulars at 3rd & Main now, and then everyone who’s in the park with Riot Ribs.

. @Bitchwitch20 reminded me that there will be a sweep at 7 a.m. tomorrow to dismantle Riot Ribs, in case you were, um, to show up and express your support for Riot Ribs at that hour.

A Riot Ribs cook wearing a bulletproof vest said to a protester who was worried they were eating more than their share, “Eat until you’re full, man. I want to feed everybody in this park.”

Someone is passing out white hard hats so lots of people are matching. There are ~250 people occupying the two parks and 3rd in front of the JC.

I just learned RCJ marched people back to Rev Hall. Cool cool cool. (That’s the part of the group that didn’t march here, and I think it’s much bigger.)

Also, apparently the temporary restraining order expires tonight at midnight. @PDocumentarians told me that. In fact, this is now just a thread of smart things he’s told me.

It’s pretty chill. There’s a big crowd listening to speakers at 3rd & Main. There’s park hangs. There was a teen throwing apples at the federal courthouse, but I think they’re done with that now. Also, Riot Ribs has 1,000 coolers.

Federal police came out and arrested one person, protesters tell me, but I didn’t see it happen.

Hey kids, I believe Terry Schrunk, at the southwest corner is federal property, and you should probably not stand in it.

That riled people up and now most protesters have come down to SW Madison to chant, “Fuck feds!”

Some Black leaders got people to move back to Main. The parent in my heart who doesn’t want you to get fucked up by federal police is like, “Oh thank god.”

Protesters are lighting paper lanterns in front of the elk. This is objectively better than fireworks.

Someone is handing these zines out. Information! For you!

Someone on a megaphone sings, “Black lives matter, you cowardly pigs!”

We moved to Madison because there are some camo police peeking over this wall.

Riot police arrived at Salmon while most protesters were two blocks away on Madison. They took the barricade away.

And then they jumped back on their riot van and left!

Just a reminder that barricades keep protesters safe from car attacks.

A Black protester started a fire on Salmon. You can hear other Black protesters arguing with the fire starter in this video.

I don’t usually film it for obvious reasons, but the material gathering is the cutest and most charming thing that happens at the protests. They’re just like happy little bees.

I’m enjoying sitting on the ground too much to get up and take a picture of it, but the new barricade is getting to be even bigger than the one the cops took.

Here’s the gray van. Someone told me license plates CHU 456. It had camo cops in it and they are allegedly jumping out and grabbing people.
