In first grade I had a snow white lunch box with a matching thermos with a glass liner and someone told me that if I dropped the thermos there might be ground glass in my milk, and I wouldn't be able to tell, but I might die.
One day I tripped and dropped the lunch box and I was terrified for weeks afterwards, with every sip of milk, though I never told anyone. (I never thought to not drink the milk I guess). I remember worrying about it as I fell asleep at night.
Now I imagine six year old me with a bullet proof backpack and a matching N95 mask along with the snow white lunch box. It is all so wrong, and I'm so sorry, those of you picking out backpacks and masks in extra small that this is our world.
