okay Ik i'm spamming about #FreeBritney on all my socials BUT ya'll need to understand how much i love @britneyspears. i've held her songs close to my heart for as long as I can remember and honestly her entire discography got me thru some shit!!

I vividly remember seeing the footage of brit shaving her head while I was at the airport at 5am. I was 10 and the paparazzi harassing her was much more terrifying to me than brit's public "break down". it was obvious to me that something was seriously wrong #FreeBritney
the image of brit w the umbrella has been at the center of SO many memes and when I think back on it with the knowledge I have now abt mental illness, it's heartbreaking and disgusting that the paparazzi used her "breakdown" as a money-making opportunity. #FreeBritney
and the saddest part is that it worked. my parents saw brit as a washed-up mess/bad influence etc and my 10yo self defended her bc I loved her songs. and brit, being the badass she is, kept. making. music. even tho her mental health was jeopardized #FreeBritney
when I was 12 I started struggling w depression (wasn't diagnosed til 17 so this 5 yr period was ROUGH) and TO THIS DAY I cant listen to Lucky w/out crying. brit's music gave me an outlet AND inspired me to audition for a vocal comp team. lucky was my audition song #FreeBritney
Everytime also hits me hard bc it brings back vivid memories of the dark place I was in mentally at the time. The lyrics in these songs were so relevant to how I felt and it made me feel like Brit understood which Ik sounds cheesy but i digress #freebritney
But seriously “If there’s nothing missing in her life, then why do these tears come at night” was so fkn relatable bc I felt guilty and that i had no “reason” to be depressed and didn’t understand why I was sad!! #freebritney
Britney is so loveable bc of how genuine, talented and humble she is. But her mgmt/father have worked for 12 years AT LEAST to paint her as unstable. Meanwhile she’s tried to fight them and they locked her in the hospital MULTIPLE times #freebritney
Imagine having the most highly publicized mental break in history, only to be treated as an incompetent pawn for the next decade. Coping with mental illness is a terrifying spiral and the ppl closest to Brit failed to act in HER best interest. #freebritney
If you look at her socials, she is clearly in distress but still shows her fans how much she loves them. her change in demeanor over the past 12 years is so drastic bc of the abuse/effects of the c-ship but she continues to try to act like herself for her fans. #freebritney
I’m so heartbroken that this has been going on for so long and that Britney has had to endure this abuse. She deserves so much more than basic human rights but she doesn’t even have those!! All I want is to see her thrive and live her best life #freebritney
