Fascists want so badly to debate you. It literally happens in person at protests. It is dangerous theater.

Seeing takes that reference a certain self-unemployed writer's queerness as defense and am remembering the fascists screaming at protesters that Milo is gay so why do they hate gay people???

This is what you can do when actual issues are immaterial to you. You can break big fucking issues down to individual personalities. Oh, you support queer rights? Well, not if you don't agree with this one queer person I like! Checkmate, losers!

During the Milo protest, fascists were approaching every protester who wasn't in the midst of brawling and trying to calmly, reasonably argue with us. What they were saying was not smart, but it followed certain rules of sounding logical and they spoke calmly.

One posed as a reporter who wanted to interview me. They all framed their complaints as questions. Behind them were the fascists who wanted to brawl.

And mind you, the reason we were standing farther back looking approachable is because a fascists hit me moments after we arrived and as disabled folks, we decided to get away from where we were likely to get knocked down.

So there were literally people getting attacked and in fights near us as these other people came over and tried to play Reasonable Fascist. One girl tried to get me to shake her hand, which is clearly theater.

And I'm reiterating all of this because just because you can't see the Nazis who want to beat you up behind the reasonable tweets of those who are just so concerned about free speech for the privileged, it doesn't mean they aren't there.
