Been thinking about this a lot due to recent events and how people are "cancelling Hamilton"
This last line... it hits so much harder now than when I first heard it in passing.

It reminds me of a video where a man asks "How many generations do we need to wait?"

(I saw it on twitter about a month ago. I wish I remembered the proper wording of such a powerful question.)
I started thinking of this because in a group chat, someone also brought up "The Haunting of Lin-Manuel Miranda"

It's streaming right now on The Nuyorican Poets Cafe's channel

There's also a book coming out, if it's not out already.
So with all this information I have been presented with... I remember the twitter post about problematic fandoms.

I remind myself it's okay to like Hamilton, and liking it has brought me more knowledge due to its faults.
Even with it's faults, many great quotes come from it. These words hold power and empower people to stand for what they believe in.

To stand for their rights.

To stand for what is right.
It is not up to the next generation.

It is up to us, now.

"If we lay a strong enough foundation" there will be something for those who come after us to stand on.
[ I made this thread more for myself, to get my thoughts out, ans as a reminder to research for myself, but I don't see the harm in anyone else seeing it. I have under 20 followers anyway. ]
