On June 2, 2019, 23-year-old #MilesHall experienced a psychotic episode.

Scared for his safety, his family called the Walnut Creek Police. But rather than helping Miles, police murdered him.

Miles' mother is now fighting for AB 2054 to remove police from mental health response.
AB 2054—or the #CRISESAct—allocates $10M to fund a dozen pilot programs of non-police responders across the state.

These unarmed first responders would answer mental illness, homelessness, natural disaster, and domestic violence calls, keeping cops AWAY from vulnerable people.
The #CRISESAct is common sense. Police themselves have long said that they're ill-equipped to respond to mental health crises.

In Sacramento, LA, Berkeley, and Stockton organizations such as @APTPaction successfully provide community-based care to people in crisis.
With your help, the #CRISESAct has a real chance of passing.

Money is tight right now, which is why it's CRITICAL that you contact your Senator and tell them to prioritize removing cops from mental health response.
