I’ve been seeing a lot of people posting about how companies should “just give junior designers a chance”. While I get the sentiment... Why should companies hire junior designers? Instead of screaming into the void, let’s make a case we can actually sell to employers. Discuss!
I’m cheaper than somebody with 5+ years experience. I’m more willing to do the awful grunt work, because I just want to learn. I’m humble and appreciative. Just happy to be here.
For the record - so many senior designers have been affected too. To suggest junior designers are the only ones struggling to find work right now shows naivety, and a lack of empathy and understanding of the current state of design. Not what you want to communicate to employers.
