the truth is there is no right answer for every n-b person ! being non-binary is a spectrum and not everyone is comfortable with the same compliments. while u may see a term as neutral, they might see it as gendered. but don't worry, there's a very simple solution –
ask them. "are you okay with being called x ?" ... it's really simple and ensures that your non-binary friends are comfortable. also check their carrd and pronouny bc they might have a list of compliments they're okay with !
if a non-binary person tells u not to call them gorgeous, don't. if they tell you not to call them handsome, don't. if they tell you not to call them anything, don't. don't tell them "x isn't gendered ! " just respect what they are comfortable with.
and for the love of god, if you're not non-binary, don't speak over us. some of us are comfortable with gendered terms. some of us aren't. and that's okay. not every non-binary person is the same. thank you and goodnight
