It’s cool because we had some of the earliest, toughest restrictions that also turned out to be largely ineffective.

March 19: Stay at home order
May 14: Universal mask order
June 19: Open bars and indoor dining (?!?!)
July 14: Fucked for the foreseeable future https://twitter.com/thedweck/status/1283079870021545985
A lot of the response from local officials and others has been “Well, people haven’t followed the rules.” True! And that’s bad. But when you signal to people that they’re allowed to crowd into bars and indoor restaurants, what do you think is gonna happen??
It’s wonderful and a testament to smart leadership that we flattened the curve and kept our hospitals from being overwhelmed in March thru May.

But then a really stupid decision was made in June, and now we’re shut down again, and at risk of being overwhelmed.

So, great job?
