THREAD: Today we& #39;re announcing guidance to safely reopen schools this fall. Designed by the School Transition Reopening and Redesign Taskforce, and approved by public health experts, this guidance provides districts with the flexibility to safely reopen according to their needs.
We all share the goal of getting our kids back to school safely, but we know each district will have a different path forward. Here in NH, we value local control, and we know that each school district will need to make the best decision for their students and teachers. (2/)
Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, this is a guide that will help school districts make their own decisions on education this coming year. (3/)
The safety of students and staff was the primary factor in developing these recommendations, recognizing that, through mitigation efforts, risk can be reduced. We believe that with these recommendations, schools can fully reopen for in-person instruction in a safe manner. (4/)
Of course, a school district can choose to remain fully remote, offer a hybrid school year with partial remote learning and partial in-person learning, or offer fully in-person classes. (5/)
The state is not going to mandate that all school districts return this fall, but we are going to provide guidance that we believe will allow students to return safely. Whether a district chooses to move forward with these guidelines is up to them. (6/)
The highlights of the guidance include:
