Hello everyone,
I wanted to update you on the changes to my Twitter and what's been going on.

After I streamed with TK, I received an immense amount of harrassment for not doing the same thing with HBox.

I had been in direct contact with HBox but was no where near in the frame of mind to take a tenth day off my job and be at the front and center of another swarm of angry gamers.

What resulted from my limited emotional bandwidth was threats of rape and sexual assault if I ever showed my face at events. Or if anyone could find me for that matter.

I am a survivor of rape and sexual assault. I have been in the active process of healing from that trauma. But the reaction to my public presence in this community has unfortunately made it clear to me that women are not yet safe here.

I had to learn it the hard way. I thought the status of being a doctor and having a successful career could protect me. But I underestimated the mental toll this work could take. Keep this in mind when you question why women didn't come forward sooner or pubicly.

While the public personalities I lent my free knowledge too have been able to move forward relatively unscathed, I am sitting with the heaviness of absorbing close to 40 stories of sexual harrassment and assault at the hands of this community.

And now the community is aggressively sexually harassing me for having the audacity to try to get a public conversation started about how harmful this type of behavior can be even if it is not physical. Oh, the irony.

I am going to be taking time to heal in my inner circles. I am not gone. I am now doing a lot of work behind the scenes. Hopefully one day we can have these conversations more openly. For now, support those who you know who are speaking up or have been affected.
