Non-Romantic Synastry you should be aware of.

A thread.
An indication of a good therapist will be planets in your 4th House (Childhood, Home Life, Privacy), 8th House (Intimacy, Debts & Depths, Secrets & Fears), and 12th House (Institutions, Subconscious, Dreams).

Without it, you end up with a therapist who doesn't understand the why
Parents will be represented in the chart in a specific way. The way your parents engage in your life depends on what HOUSE the Moon & Sun are in.

The Moon show the role your mother plays, the Sun show the role your father plays. House & Aspects contribute, but not define.
That being said, when looking for the "harsh" side of parental figures, look at Saturn and Lilith.

Chiron will also give insight as to where the problems lie, and any of the above aspects may cast a degree of "blame."
For instance, a child with a 4th House Moon & 10th House Sun likely grew up in the "ideal" household. Very 1950's.

However, throw a 7th House Lilith & 12th House Saturn in there, you've got a kid who idealizes their mother & may seek out partners like her & an absent father.
If Chiron aspects Saturn, it'll show emotional neglect from the father being the culprit of whatever sign the astroid is in's behaviors & how it shows up in it's house.
With Chiron aspecting Lilith, it'll show the identity being "lost" to the mother somehow and difficulty loving.
Teachers, obviously, should have something in your 3rd or 9th House. Malefics will suggest that they may not teach in your learning style naturally.

This goes for mentors, religious teachers, group leaders, tutors, and trainers.
Also, look at what environment (House) your Mercury is in.
If your Mercury is in a Cadent House (2nd, 6th, 8th, or 12th) you may find that they don't understand the way you communicate. This also works the opposite way -- while they have their benefits, struggle is here.
The longevity of friendship can be found in what house their Moon & Venus show up in.

While the 11th House is the house of community, it actually doesn't bring as long lasting friendships as the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th Houses.
Instead, having Moon/Venus in your friends 11th House often shows that you may engage in a larger group dynamic with them. This can lead to shallower personal relationships.

The 6th, 9th, & 11th Houses show short or shallow friendships.
The 1st & 10th Houses show friendships of convience, reputation, or pursuit. These often come with the desire for something more, and while not inherently negative, one is often too caught up in themselves and their goals to truly reach out a hand and understand the other.
Finally, the 2nd, 8th, and 12th Houses are often a toss up. These are deeply involved houses that deal entirely with intimate emotions and deep bonds.
Often, these relationships have some emotions boiling beneath the surface, deal with issues in trust, ect.
The 2nd, 8th and 12th Houses in friendship require honesty but rarely get it so candidly. As such, these relationships have a perpensity to fall apart due to one keeping something (feelings of some sort, usually), from the other.

Keeping a friend blind kills these rxships.
Not that you'll often find the chart of a stranger, but strangers who leave a mark (perhaps by the stray compliment, word of wisdom, or moment of drunken bathroom care) tend to be in the 11th/12th Houses.

If you connect again, the 8th House may also be involved, or an Rx planet.
As a little side note, forgiveness in astrology is also going to be indicated by the 4th, 8th, and 12th Houses.

4th is for those deep love forgivenesses.
8th is for those that feel something needs to be repaid (debts).
12th is for those "I miss you," or accidental forgiveness
Hatred, upon the same coin, will be found in aspects to Mars &/or in the 12th House.

Hatred is often this perpetual, subconscious feeling, which places it here.

Of course, hatred is usually found in the form of a malefic being in the 12th, or Mars being extremely prevalent.
