(1) What does it say about communications skills at a 911 center when they can't pass along a simple message to staff to stop the repeated dispatching of firefighters to the same fallen tree? Instead, @OUC_DC dispatched @dcfireems to that same call 7 different times.(more) @oigdc
(2) LISTEN: Multiple times in 12 hours, officers of Truck 17 -- from 2 different shifts -- tried to get @dcfireems to stop the madness. They told @OUC_DC there's nothing they can do about the large tree at Texas Ave. near B St. SE. But they kept getting dispatched anyway. (more)
(3) LISTEN: DC 911's problems are much larger than this tree. Listening to 24 hrs of radio traffic on July 7, I found 18 other duplicate responses, wasting critical @dcfireems resources. This occurs despite software intended to prevent such duplication. Here's one: (more)
(4) LISTEN: These are daily occurrences that unnecessarily tie up firefighters, EMTS & medics that could be needed for your emergency. Similarly, in that same 24 hour period, @OUC_DC --as they do every day-- failed to notify @dcfireems about calls that have been cancelled.(more)
(5) LISTEN: Or how about the 2 times in that same 24-hour period of July 7 when many minutes were lost dispatching paramedics & EMTs to medical calls while the crews were still in the middle of a previous call. Here's one of them. (more)
(6) LISTEN: Combine that with sending @dcfireems to the wrong quadrant of the city -- as was done during 4 recent cardiac arrest calls. Here's one of at least 2 that occurred on July 7. Ambulance 30B tries to convince @OUC_DC the address isn't correct. (more)
(7) Why isn't this #DC911CRISIS on the radar screens of DC's leaders & the news media? 4 cardiac arrest calls sent to the wrong quadrant & no one cares. Constant wasting of life saving resources & no one cares. Constant delayed responses & no one cares. (more)
(8) LISTEN: Writing this, I hear @OUC_DC again send @dcfireems to the wrong address. Was it the caller's or 911's fault 15 mins. were lost? We'll likely never know because there's no transparency & oversight of the agency that has the most impact on the public's safety (more)
