Is everyone asleep in the Philippines?

Habeus corpus has been suspended folks. You are now free to be dragged from your own home and imprisoned by the government without warrant nor cause under the auspieces of securing the public health

A modicum of outrage is appropriate

As I read the Constitution, this requires a declaration by the President and threat of rebellion or insurrection. I don’t see one, but it’s apparently happening none the less

If you live in Mindanao, habeus corpus was already suspended to authorize otherwise arbitrary arrests under martial law...

Habeus corpus is quite literally the most important and basic of civil rights. It affords you the safety to exercise all of your other civil rights in the safety of your home free from the fear of government intrusion, warrantless and abritary arrest and imprisonment
