What is happening with Mamamoo?

So first of all. Mamamoo are humans, and they are being treated like shit.

If you like mamamoo and you've heard what is happening about them receving hate,please stay.

1. As a moomoo, I can say that we are no trying to start any war between fandoms, so if I bring any idol or any comment please dont be offended. It as an example.We DONT generalize and we dont want any explanation about that idol incident or comment because we truly understand.

Im gonna expose the mistakes they did. Im not asking you to stan. Im asking emphathy because they are humans too and all the hate they are receving could be for your idol too. For example as WheeIn bias, she had to take a break from mamamoo and has a lot of anxiety.

1.The blackface incident.

So, there are a lot of people that didnt know about this and its unfair. Basically they tryed to represent a Bruno Mars video and did blackface. Before you go and say its disgusting, read.

Im a white moomoo,and where I live, there isnt barely black people. When I first watched the vídeo I thought it was fun. Because I was young at that time and I didnt know about racism. I wanna clarify this because, they were in the same situation. Im noT justifying that it was

It was a mistake.
A HUGE one, because lot of people were offended.
But they did apologized multiple times. Even in a concert.
And again, you don't have to forgive, but respect.

In my point of view, they were NOT RACIST.
They were ignorant.
Because they didnt wanted to discriminate people but they did.
Again, im not asking to forgiveness.

2.The Beyoncé incident.

Hwasa said the word n**gg*.
Yes she did. In a song. An English song.
There's a lot of groups where an integrant can understand perfectly English. But Mamamoo they.They dont know any words. Not even the word n*gg*.

So again, this wasnt even a racist act. Maybe the blackface was.
But this isnt, because she was not discriminating anyone for their skintone. And second, she didnt even know what it means.

Think of when a lot of english speakers sing idk a song in Spanish and they say "puta" that means whore. For her was the same.

So please dont use this as a racist act because it isnt. A racist act is for example say thay all the chinese people have coronavirus and dont stand next to them because of that thought.

3. The "black unnie"

This isnt even an incident, but a misunderstanding. Thats why there isnt any apologies.
There are different versions but some say that Hwasa called herself black. Or black unnie.

This was because a fan said that Hwasa was more darker/black than Solar. It means that she was more tuned than YongSun. And as we all know some sentences from Korean are difficult to transite so maybe started there.And another thing, is that Hwasa is the maknae(youngest).

so call herself unnie doesnt makes sense.

5.Finally Cultural appropriation

Cultural appropriation can be defined as the “cherry picking” or selecting of certain aspects of a culture, and ignoring their original significance for the purpose of belittling it as a trend.

Appreciation is honoring and respecting another culture and its practices, as a way to gain knowledge and understanding

This is the meaning of the 2 different aspects.
The problem is Hwasa wearing a Durag.

She weared a Durag 2 times (once in Queendom )
And the second with their dancers in her new solo "María".

There are multiplies opinions on this. In My opinion, I really dont care if a japonese (as an example) starts wearing a flamenco suit(because im Spanish). For me it doesnt matter. But its true that its not only a costume with no background. So I understand the anger.

But in Hwasa's case...

Again, im not justifying what she did, because she clearly weared a durag as an accesorie 2 times. Thats cultural appropiation, you can be mad.

But. U have to understand that Korea is another thing. In kpop, there is a thing calles "concepts".
And its not only for clothes but for music too.

They like to incorporate things from other cultures. In kpop this is very usual.
So for me, its common in kpop not to be educated about these things, and some, they wear it because they like it or their stlylist make them wear it.

So you can be MAD but not only on Hwasa.

For Hwasa, she was raised along with a lot of black music for example(she loves Jazz and Reggae) or many of her idols are black like Beyoncé or Rihanna. Thats why Hwasa seems really baddass and atracks
so much people. Because she loves and inspire herself to be fierce.

Still it isnt right to do culture aproppiation and I agree. But the point is she isnt the one and only because there its very normal, so althought for them is something they want to apreciate its not that way how you do it.

MY FINAL POINT

Mamamoo is receiving LOTS OF USELESS HATE.

Mamamoo is a group that fights against a lot of things and even with themselves.

And there are a lot of idols who did similiar mistakes and they are not being treated the same way.

Here are some examples about other similar mistakes that idols do because they are not educated.

Also, this is NOT to claim other mistakes or hide mamamoo mistakes or start a fandom war. I love most of these people because Im a multistan besides mamamoo but they are EXAMPLES.Its only to show that our idols can do mistakes because they are NOT educated by their companies.

So Why?

Because Mamamoo is more famous?
"Its because they keep doing the same".

Maybe they keep doing mistakes but its also their company fault to not supervise their ideas.

For example, BTS's war of hormone was problematic cause of the lyrics and they started to supervise their songs with a woman specialist.

I would like RBW to do the same with mamamoo.

Yes, we moomoos apologize for mamamoo, they did mistakes. Their biggest 3/4 years ago.
And it still not forgotten. It still bad, but its a mistake. They apologized and ALSO they still struggle with that. What else do you want?
Please we are asking to leave them alone.

Other thing I wanna say, its that Mamamoo as a whole, only did ONE mistake. So they are not that problematic. We moomoos and fight for them so if u dont want to be involved its ok, but leave us alone.

I say this because Hwasa is not MAMAMOO.
Hwasa is a part of Mamamoo.

I love Hyejin so much but and its true that Moonbyul, YongSun and WheeIn didnt do all those "mistakes" so you cant involve them.
Its really unfair because still they are a group that loves each other a lot but the attention only goes to 1 and the mistakes are for everyone.

I hope I dont offended anyone. I just wanna protect them because they really are not racist. They are wonderful and talented people that love us with their hearts and I just dont want this family to end because of rumours and hate.

Mamamoo does not care about haters,but it hurts them. One thing doesnt deny the other.
We do get hurt to. Just imagine if your favorite band disbanded for some rumours and some mistakes and not actually for being bad people.

Also I wanna say that mamamoo fights with a lot of tabus and support black people.

Also this its just my opinion but most of the things said here are from black people and moos.
As a moomoo Im sorry if I ofended anyone but I only wanto to support my group because I dont think they deserve it.

So please If I express es myself wrong dont be to harsh. I dont speak English. Im not Blaming Hwasa. This Is not the point of this thread. U cant change people opinions. But the point is to help them to understand about kpop culture.
