1) To see Kylo purely as a manipulator who is only wants to use others OR to see him as only manipulated and a victim robs one of the best Star Wars characters to date of his complexity.
2) to say the dyad in the Force is only a mystical bond without inherent emotion OR to say it’s all a manifestation of romantic love and anything else is wrong robs one of the most fascinating concepts in the saga of its potential.
3) to say Rey is merely a product of legacy and that her power is all from outside herself OR that she carries no burdens of the past, no weight of guilt she shouldn’t carry robs a (female) lead of timely narrative that deserves to be explored.
4) maybe the balance is learning how multiple things can be true at once. And finding how to navigate that rather than reducing it to a yes or a no is where we can find a deeper meaning. Maybe the beauty is in the ideas that seem to be in conflict and the connections between them
