What is it that 15Ks provided that was so appropriated?
I can't help but think that most of their value was overestimated due to the lack of alternatives in competitive CR at the time. https://twitter.com/CWA/status/1283053646004006914

- a growing CR community
- 1k participants
- ~$2,000 prizepool
- rudimentary score system
At the time nothing could be compared, but we currently have much better leagues and tournaments than back then.

To me, the main difference has to be the investment. Each of those tournaments was valued in 2k USD... we now only have a few events with that prizepool each year.
So even if 15Ks or an equivalent was to return, people seem to think they'd have one of those tournaments to play whenever they'd like... I'd guess that wouldn't be the case. These tournaments would be quite infrequent if they were to have similar prizes.
