It's been over ten days since Wizards ate a face full of gravel when their internal practices were laid bare by Orion. It took 7 days for them to make a weak "apology" and milquetoast pledge to "do better". Seems reasonable that they're still taking "first steps" right? WRONG.
Wizards has been having this "conversation" since 2017 when they dropped the ball on Chult, deciding simultaneously that hiring Black people to work on it and providing any kind of indepth background and cultural material were things they didn't need to do. That's almost 3 YEARS.
Nearly 3 Years of inaction, nearly 3 Years of hinted at change. Nearly 3 Years of faux diversity "effort" meant to make it seem like they were making an effort. The "first steps" were in autumn, 2017. And already, less than two weeks later, you can see "normality" is back.
Almost no one is talking about it. Pressure isn't being applied. So all I can say is this:

If you're not dependent on Wizards directly for your paycheque, stop carrying water for them. Stop doing their heavy lifting, especially if you're a BIMPOC. You're only making it look...
...like everything is fine. It's not. It's not going to be fine for a long time. And Wizards is relying on your unpaid labour to help spread and sell their products. They aren't a small company. They aren't your family. There are other games out there. People want to watch...
...and hear your stories, not listen to you use D&D mechanics.

The time for change was years ago. The time to change is now. Stop giving free labour to a company that's a component of a larger corporation who doesn't need it.
