Today I’m going to talk about the differences between INFPs and ENFPs.
Both types engage with the world through the lens of their extroverted intuition (Ne). Once you& #39;ve cracked them, this is the extroverted self you will see: curiosity, cranking out new ideas a mile a minute, openness, a sense of wonder.
When an #INFP feels comfortable in their environment, they may attempt to show off their Ne creativity through humor, wit, or art. But it is much more likely for an #ENFP to be the ones who seek attention for their ideas.
It doesn& #39;t have to be intentional - ENFPs just will get attention and will often stick out like a sore thumb in group scenarios, because they do NOT know how to turn their brain off. They will continue to seek connections, whether you like it or not.
Both types judge the world through their introverted feeling (Fi). They are fully aware of how every little thing they experience creates an emotional reaction within them, at varying levels of intensity.
People talk about Fi as related to "morals" and "values" a lot. Everyone has values, but Fi cultivates their values in a subjective manner. (Just as Ti and Te both seek truth, but Te will seek truth by doing an external experiment to test truth, while Ti digs).
Fi also digs for moral truths. Fi in the INFP and ENFP makes them self aware of how their experiences and preferences contribute to their unique, emotional signature.
ENFPs can turn their personal imprint off when interacting with people, in order to better engage with the idea. They can forget what you did last summer if you are being interesting right now. They can ignore personal distaste if you are being useful at the moment.
INFPs CANNOT escape their personal, emotional signature, in the same way that ENFPs CANNOT turn their minds off from creating ideas. If you were to run over an INFPs cat, they& #39;d have murder dreams about you even if you apologize and they logically know it wasn& #39;t your fault.
It& #39;s that emotional association that is built between things that INFPs cannot shake. If you leave a mark on an INFP, it never goes away. ENFPs are more likely to give another chance and override the experience.
Luckily, INFPs also tend to be much more skilled at self soothing and emotional processing. They& #39;ve had to learn, because of how easy it is for them to pick up baggage. All feeler dominants are a sponge, in a way.
This inability to shake their Fi can also lead to an INFP being less likely to take any action that goes against their essence. They don& #39;t want to bother dating someone who is only somewhat their person They won& #39;t waste their time on a creative project unless it& #39;s right for them.
INFPs view the world through the lens of their own, personal emotional experience - which may or may not connect with anything going on in society. This can be good because it& #39;s easier for them to detach from things that don& #39;t work. They have this classic "you do you" attitude.
Ultimately, ENFPs are learning how to ground their ideas into reality and stop running around like chickens with their heads cut off. INFPs are learning how to apply themselves to a society without making themselves feel miserable.
