Am I the only one who doesn't have a issue with these scenes? It just adds onto the trauma that the characters have to face and eventually grows from these scenarios as a result. 2/2 tear down the protagonists and eventually will help the protagonists overcome their experiences further down in life and overcome their trauma but never forget about it. I don't see why SAO is hated for this when other media does the same thing.

My only criticism is with Suguha in the last episode where the assault felt more like Fanservice instead of an sexual assault and I understand why people feel that way. If that scene was presented more better then it wouldn't receive so much controversy
