In 2012, Real Madrid signed Luka Modric from sours for approximately £30 million.

He was voted as the "worst signing of the summer.

Since 2012, no midfielder could match him when it comes to ball holding, dribbling , control, passing defending , shifting gears.

He first played CDM (Center Defensive midfielder) in Real Madrid. Generally a CDM has less dribbling skills , they only block and pass well. But Modric has fantastic dribbling skills, curves and ability to manoeuvre the ball. This lets him protect the ball much better.

2018 was the best year of his career.

He led Croatia in their first ever world cup final appearance in 2018.

He was also the catalyst for Madrid Winning the 2018 UCL with a master class in the finals.

He was voted as the "Best player of the world cup" Winning the Golden ball.

Him and Iniesta are the only midfielders to have a master class in all of their UCL finals.

In the first of those, it was a Modric corner when Ramos forced extra time with a dramatic 93rd minute header.

He had huge contributions for his Club in all the 4 UCLs of Madrid.

Ancelotti in 2016 said: "Luka Modric is definitely one of the best midfield players in the world. He has great technical abilities, reads the game and has a strong personality that he has built over the years. Besides that, he is a very pleasant person.

Luka Modric imo is the Greatest Midfielder to wear the Royal white jersey. Only Kroos comes close second.

Zidane is the best Midfielder to play for Madrid but the contributions of Modric and Kross for the club are unparalleled.

He was the only player not named Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi to win the a ballon d'or in the last decade.

He was also named in the FIFA World XI.

He's currently 34 years old, usually players are dusted or they go to Japan/ Qatar at this age but Luka is consistent in almost every game and try to perform best for his team.
