ITV are asking for Black people to appear in a programme called ‘Black in the U.K.’
I sent an email to them explaining that the best way to show this was to air programmes about Black people. I said in 30yrs their only representation was RHOA and characters on The Bill

I also said that our lives were displayed in either crime or comedy programmes with very few variations.
I was very surprised that they responded.

As you can see I was given BAME figures when I specifically asked about Black programming.
Even those are woeful, only one programme written by an Asian writer.
They Cc’d ITV executives into the response, I hope they don’t think this is in anyway acceptable.
