I'll say it again.

If the government can send around a stupid letter to every household in the UK then the government should also provide those from low-income homes with the money to buy masks.

It's not fair to assume everyone can afford one.
I would say a washable face mask puts you back £6-10. Let's say you buy 2, so when you are washing 1 you have 1 to wear. That's somewhere between £12-20 of your income.

Now imagine you are a family of 4.

Low-income families don't have that type of money.
Yes you can make your own masks - but some people can't/the materials still may cost even if not as much.

Also a lot of people won't KNOW they can make masks.
