A very popular or common way to build trust is through transparency. Very few disagree with that. But why create transparency? Because being part of a bigger system you feel obligated to show how you impact that system.
That is...you feel obligated to render account. You have accountability. And through that, we have trust.
Ahh but that is taking responsibility, you say, not being held to account! Perhaps, but one can feel intrinsic obligation to the greater good without it being forced upon them. They can hold themselves to account.
