okay since tl has calming down, let me speak. it was too much for me earlier so i couldn’t voice out my opinions at all.
i’m part of the lgbtq+ community and i have absolutely no problems with fans joking about idols being homo, they’re harmless jokes in general, yes.
what i think is the problem is the platforms. i’ve said this before but different platforms serve different purposes. you guys can joke whatever u wants here on twt, idc. twitter is always wild anyways and it’s basically our main stan platform.
pocketdols, fancafe, fanship, vlive fan section are the closer interaction platform between us and idols so there’s certain lines that shouldn’t be crossed. no matter how harmless we thinks our jokes are, it may be harmful to the idols in certain ways.
of course, i would love it when idols could even make lgbtq+ jokes with us (not in a mocking way ofc), could be more open about their supports on the community but we knew how crazy the korean media and knetz could be.
even the nasty dispatch agreed on not outing gay couples, the consequences could be unimaginable.
my other problem is that, if you’re not part of the lgbtq+ community, don’t invalidate us, don’t assume all idols are straight, don’t ship idols but then act homophobic, that just shows that u’re fetishizing them.
please, learn to be moderate. the jokes itself aren’t harmful but the way we’re expressing it might be. put cultural differences in mind too. i know it’d be amazing if we don’t have to set certain line to this but it is just how it is.
