KLAXON! DRUM ROLL!

Important @bookpenpals Announcement!

The current @bookpenpals pairings end this Friday, 17th July.

But please don't sob into the pages of your latest brilliant book recommendation - it's not over! Here's what happens next.
NEW authors/illustrators/schools: please REGISTER on our website ( http://www.bookpenpals.com ).

EXISTING authors/illustrators & schools: please CHECK YOUR DETAILS on the website, ensuring that email & Twitter details are current & leaving a review for your previous pen pal.
Schools: the more you say in your blurb about how you plan to support your @bookpenpals (display boards, reading your pen pals' work, tweeting reactions to the recommendations etc.), the more you will increase your chances of being selected by a pen pal.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that all registered schools will get a 'real life' author or illustrator #bookpenpal in September BUT all registered schools without a pairing will receive digital postcards from a selection of our @bookpenpals
Registration verifications will be complete by SEPTEMBER when @bookpenpals will be invited to select their school(s).

(Please note that authors & illustrators wishing to choose schools in Scotland will be able to do so by the middle of August, when many Scottish schools open.)
If you're an author or illustrator currently taking part but would like to take a year out, you do not need to do anything as pairings are only made if you select a school. If you wish to be removed completely from the system, please contact us.
Due to Covid, we have not been able to carry out all our plans, but we hope to have some lovely surprises for you in September to kick start the next year of the initiative.
HUGE THANKS to all the illustrators, authors and schools who have taken part to date. We remain enormously grateful for your passion, care and generous contributions.

This will be our THIRD year of @bookpenpals and we hope to see it continue and grow. THANK YOU ALL!
And a resounding "BRAVO!" to @saramoohead who continues to spend endless hours developing the website & the digital side of our programme. It is tremendously time-consuming, challenging work & she deserves a standing ovation for all she's given & achieved. Take a bow, Sara!
