I got married to my husband barely a year after we met .

I was in my final year in school , we did a very low key Nikkah , which made people assume I was pregnant that’s why we rushed it .
When I got back to school ,my friends would tease me when I complain of any slight headache or pain “ madam you are pregnant “ but I wasn’t .

You know typical naija parents will keep dropping hints .After I graduated the hints became very clear.
My MIL wasn’t having it ( worst days of my life ) even though we were not even married for a year yet!

After a year, we were told to come home .
It sounded like I was the one with the problem, because my Mother In Law said it so many times that her son impregnated someone before so he couldn’t be the one with the issue.
We started seeing doctors then one said because I started my period at the age of 10 , that’s why I am having issues getting pregnant 🙄 .

We ran tests ,I used to go to that hospital every two weeks for injections. These injections were expensive and painful.
The injections were supposed to help me to produce more eggs during ovulation .

Ovulation days were horrific. I would be in pains and be begging my husband to have sex with me so I can get pregnant . Oga will say no because I was obviously in serious pains.
After sex , I would use a pillow to raise my waist up so the sperm doesn’t escape .

It was such a tough time.
After almost 3 months of doing that and no difference , MIL Insisted I come home and be treated .

Mind you, no one was talking about my husband coming home to get treated . By then we had been married for a year and 3 months.
I know the duration is not even much compared to other people but when people have been forcing pregnancy down your throat because you had a low key wedding, it is like that.

Some even called me months after my nikkah to congratulate me that they heard I gave birth .
Then my cousins that got married after I did had given birth .

Those days , I would rejoice with them and cry when I am alone.
So we went home and we were referred to see an old gynecologist ( he’s good) .

We saw him and both ran tests and it was discovered I had high prolactin and hubby had low sperm count . I wanted to rub it in MIL’s face that see ,your son isn’t 100% either.
We started medications for two months, hubby and I were cleared . But still I didn’t get pregnant 😭.

Then hubby’s cousin linked me with a herbal medicine that we both took.

At that time, I was tired and avoided going to our home town as I didn’t want any pregnancy talk .
In January, My period was 3 days late ,and I was very weak but I didn’t even want to think it’s pregnancy but then no harm in trying so I did urine PT in the toilet.

My heart was beating very fast .
When I checked and saw two lines ,I sat down on that toilet seat for more than 3 hours .

It was when they called magrib I realized I had been in there for 3 hours ( I got back from work around 4) .

I cried a lot and kept saying Alhamdulilah.
I couldn’t hold my joy , I told my husband immediately he entered the house and we drove to a lab that had 24 hours service to be sure I was really pregnant .

It was positive.
Next month we will be celebrating our 6th year wedding anniversary with three lovely kids ( under 4years ) , this God ehn đŸ™ŒđŸœÂ .

I pray everyone crying to God for the fruit of the womb will be blessed.

Thank you for reading my conception story.
