genuinely curious as to how people think that calling out racism against asians takes away experiences faced by other poc
i read a tweet where there were a lot of replies trying to justify the generalizations that come with calling covid the ch/nese v/rus saying that “the asian lady at the nail salon talks shit about me”..... like is that supposed to be a valid reason as to why it should be ok+
to perpetuate harmful stereotypes against asian people...??? when theres innocent people (a lot who aren’t even chinese) getting assaulted for this???
and yes i understand antiblackness/colorism/prejudice/ignorance is very prominent in asian countries and has negatively affected people of other races but how does calling out racism against asian people negate other peoples’ experiences, or even
remotely invalidate what others have gone through... nobody is trying to speak over other issues but rather trying to bring to light injustices that should be addressed
idk ive seen that argument a lot on twt recently and its almost 4 am and i just wanted to say something about it =___= ill probably delete this thread when i wake up or expand this on my@spam
