Listen man. If Iran wants India out of the Chabahar rail project, okay. If Iran later wants India completely out of Chabahar, okay. India won't get to reach Afghanistan by land routes. So We'll have no choice but to take back PoK, G-B and a little bit more. First casualty: CPEC.

More serious: Threat of US sanctions is costing us a bit too much on Iran front. US needs to re-evaluate & put China as its first priority. For India, Countering China means working with Iran. This maddening $400 Bn strategic partnership is Iran signing up for colonisation.

India must build on the strides it has made in the neighbourhood, and not let the good work be reversed. Do anything but don't let the US alliance cost us Chabahar. In fact, test the USA's friendship here. The US might need Chabahar-Afg route more than India in the future.

India must work on the neighbourhood in the way that it deems fit to counter China notwithstanding the USA's demands.
