#GameChanger: Happening Now.

I will be tweeting live about the proceedings. Drop the handles, let's follow each other.
The court is now session.

Presiding Judge Monica Mugenyi calls for representation

For Uganda:

AG William Byaruhanga, SC, Francis Atwooke, Solicitor General, with other State Attorneys: C Kaahwa, P Mwaka, R Adrole.

Male Mabirizi, appearing in person.

Mr Deya for others.
Court admonishes State Attorney Richard Adrole for "an impudent letter" he wrote to the Court.

AG William Byaruhanga apologizes on behalf of the State.

Mr Deya applies to withdraw from the proceedings because his clients appear to have lost interest in the case.
Court rules that the applications filed by the other applicants (I will give you the names later) are dismissed with costs to the AG of Uganda.
Mabirizi begins his case with a quote by Kakuru JA in the age limit case. I paraphrase: "Uganda is a constitutional democracy, in which @KagutaMuseveni would not have been qualified to be president in 2021. Therefore the Magyezi Bill was intended to benefit one person"
Mabirizi: I am honoured to be part of this case that challenges the presidency of a man who doesn't want to obey Uganda's laws and the East African Treaty.

Judging the competency of a sitting president is a matter of great stakes.

I trust the judges of this court to do justice.
Mabirizi: A few aspects of the history of Uganda will show why this Court (EACJ) remains the last bastion of hope for Ugandans.

Cites events during Amin's era, esp the collapse of the EAC and says: "The collapse of values underpinning the Treaty affect the whole community."
